Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do you treat at Fosse Physiotherapy?

I treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions, including back and neck pain, joint injuries, postural issues, chronic pain, breathing pattern disorders, and recovery after illness or surgery. I also specialise in movement rehabilitation through Pilates and offer support for riders with asymmetry or pain. See our Services page for more information.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with me for physiotherapy or Pilates sessions. Please click here to be directed to our bookings page for 1:1 services and workshops. For Pilates classes please see our bookings page here. If you're unsure whether I can help, feel free to get in touch for a quick chat.

What’s the difference between 1:1 physiotherapy and 1:1 Pilates?

Physiotherapy sessions focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of specific injuries or conditions. 1:1 Pilates is movement-based and tailored to your goals — ideal for improving posture, core strength, or supporting rehabilitation. Both services are informed by my physiotherapy training and complement each other.

What should I wear to my appointment or class?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in easily — such as leggings, joggers, or a t-shirt. For classes and Pilates-based sessions, please bring a mat and bath sized towel (spares available if not with prior notice).

I’m not a rider — can I still join a Pilates class?

Absolutely! I run Pilates for All classes suitable for beginners and improvers, regardless of experience. The classes are designed to support strength, mobility, and body awareness in everyday life.

I am a horse rider — which services are right for me?

I offer Pilates for Riders classes, Equipilates™ workshops, and 1:1 Rider Assessments. These are tailored to improve alignment, balance, and stability in and out of the saddle. I also draw on my background in physiotherapy to address any pain or imbalances impacting your riding.

What is Equine Assisted Physiotherapy?

Equine Assisted Physiotherapy is an emerging field that integrates horses into physiotherapy sessions to support movement, awareness, and emotional wellbeing. I’m currently training in this specialist area, and will be offering this unique service soon.
